MS Research Assistantship (Fall 2023) in Freshwater Community Ecology, Western Washington University

 

Project Summary:
- The Institute for Watershed Studies at Western Washington University is seeking applications for a MS Research Assistantship.
- The project focuses on examining spatial and temporal trends in macroinvertebrate communities and water quality in aquatic ecosystems in the North Coast and Cascades Network.
- The research will be conducted in collaboration with scientists from the National Park Service.

Assistantship Details:
- Competitive stipend available for two years, with the possibility of additional support.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should have:
- An undergraduate degree in ecology, environmental science, or a related field, with a GPA of 3.0 or above in undergraduate coursework.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of and experience working in freshwater ecosystems and/or community ecology.
- Proficiency in statistics, especially in multivariate, spatial, and/or time-series analyses.
- Strong data management skills and familiarity with R.
