- Position: Ph.D. Student Positions at the Atlantic Veterinary College, University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI)
- Start Date: Flexible, between Sept 1, 2023, and May 1, 2024
- Research Focus: Dairy cattle and other animal species (e.g., horses, companion animals), veterinarian mental health, and One Welfare (linking human and animal well-being)
- Expertise: Multi-disciplinary team with expertise in veterinary medicine, animal welfare, social science, epidemiology, and psychology
- Required Qualifications:
- MSc degree in a relevant field (animal welfare, veterinary sciences, psychology, anthropology)
- Experience in writing scientific manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals
- Strong communication skills in English
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in qualitative research methods
- Experience working in/with the dairy sector
- DVM degree (preferred but not required)
- Expectations:
- Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team
- Collaboration with relevant communities
- Development of research questions within the specified research areas
- Pursuit of funding opportunities
- Contribution to knowledge translation through conference presentations and other methods
- Funding: Competitive annual stipend for 4 years
