Research Focus:
• Developing methods for RL agents to learn effectively in environments with poor reward signals.
• Addressing challenges in different poor reward signal scenarios, including intrinsic rewards, knowledge transfer, hierarchical RL, and model-based RL.
Desired Qualifications:
• Intellectual curiosity.
• Solid foundation in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Reinforcement Learning.
• Strong programming skills with hands-on experience in Deep Reinforcement Learning.
• Good communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
• Relevant research contributions/experience.
• Commitment to fostering a happy, supportive, and inclusive environment within the research group.

Funding:
• PhD students: $33,500 per year (Full Tuition: $9,500; Research Assistantship: $20,000; Teaching Assistantship: $4,000).
• MCS students: Funding varies based on merit and availability (Year 1: $20,500; Year 2: $13,000).
• Assistance with scholarship applications for additional funding opportunities.
