Dr. Wensi Chen:
I'm looking for one creative and self-motivated Ph.D. student to join us in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Texas A&M University, starting 2024 Fall. Our Lab focuses on the design, development, and application of advanced functional materials to address global challenges related to water, energy, and health (https://www.wensichen.com/). The successful candidate will work on smart hydrogel for bacteria/viruses sampling and detection in water samples.
The review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled. Applications received by February 15 will be given full consideration.
Candidate Requirement:
- Must have a bachelor’s degree in relevant fields including but not limited to environmental engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, material science and engineering, etc.
- A master’s degree in relevant fields is highly desirable but not required
- Previous research experience with hydrogel/polymer materials, environmental microbiology, sensor technique would be favorable
- Conduct independent research projects as well as team working abilities
- Excellent scientific writing and communication skills
